Program Description
There are two versions of the IDTimer program, a Windows version and a Linux version. Both are written as portable programs and neither requires installation to properly run.
There are two ways to be notified that an ID is due. First is visual and can be resized or located wherever convenient, The second is an audible warning. You can select a simple sound or any sound file that you wish. You can also adjust the volume of the sounder.
You may also select a 12 or 24 hour clock and whether you wish local time or UTC displayed.
The timer interval can also be chosen. 10 minutes is used by amateur operators in the United States. It also accomodates intervals such as 30 minutes as required in Canada.
Finally you can choose the persistence of the notification. If you choose "Automatic" the notification screen will automatically close in 10 seconds. Choosing "Manual" requires that you click on the notification screen to close it.
